Characteristics:
The Stenammini share the following synapomorphies with the Solenopsidini (Bolton 2003):
- Clypeus constricted posteriorly
- Median portion of clypeus narrowed from side to side and elevated, usually bicarinate on the dorsal surface of the elevated section
